I don't know about you, but working out is a necessary part of my life. My weight won't manage itself! Sometimes it's really hard to get motivated, though. These are some ideas to help motivate us to workout and also some to help us be healthier - to make the best of the workouts!
This intelligent water bottle not only calculates your hydration needs, but tracks how much water you drink during the day. Talk about making it easy to drink enough water!
Protein powder! I've tried several different ones, and so far this one had the best flavor when used with milk. Now, you're probably wondering why protein powder is listed under 'motivation'. Well, for me, protein powder is a reward. I like the taste, and when I finish a hard workout, I reward myself with a serving of protein powder. I feel like I'm being rewarded, and I'm helping my body recover from a hard workout at the same time! If protein bars are more your style, go for it!
Is including barbells under workout motivation weird? I don't think so - because when you have good equipment, it's easier to get off the couch and use it! Your 'good equipment' doesn't have to be barbells, though. It could be wrist or ankle weights, or maybe an exercise machine. Consider using a 'workout jar' - put a certain amount of money in the jar every time you workout, and when you reach a certain amount you can buy yourself a reward - like the equipment you want.
Zumba! Workouts don't have to suck. If you exercise by doing something you love, it won't be nearly as difficult to get up and get moving. Consider dance workouts, walking or running while listening to your favorite music, using a punching bag (great way to relieve some stress :) or martial arts. Bonus: with martial arts, you don't have to worry about dark alleys - because you can kick butt (literally)!
Is it hard to get going in the mornings? I feel you! These Rubbermaid FreshWorks produce savers have been advertised like crazy lately, and I am dying to try one. It's so much easier to start your morning with a nice green smoothie - spinach, anyone? (Spinach doesn't have the grainy texture of kale, and the flavor is a lot less noticeable). Why a green smoothie? It helps give you lasting energy to get you started, and fills you up - but not in a heavy way like a breakfast sandwich. It's much easier to workout when you aren't laden down with a belly full of bread! These FreshWorks containers are supposed to make your produce last up to 80% longer than store packaging. Even if you don't like green smoothies, you can still store some fresh fruit in them - fresh fruit would make a great breakfast or after-workout reward!
Now go workout! <3
