Many of us are getting really annoyed that things are being marked as off-topic that are perfectly fine. You have to read the DESCRIPTION of the question sometimes to clarify what the person is asking. But some of you are going way overboard with changing things that shouldn't be changed.
If you keep this up, this moderator program will be an EPIC failure and you'll ruin a good thing for the rest of us.
Please SHARE!!! And don't worry - I'm marking this off topic on my own!
I personally feel that if I see someone has a statement up (A good pair of blue sunglasses.) I will help by simply making a slight change to (Can you help me find a good pair of blue sunglasses?) This will help both shopswell and the person asking/answering the question. Why mark it as off topic? We are here to help not hurt our shopping community. We are here to help each other find the items plus shop for our selves. I have found some very interesting gifts and made purchases of those gifts, if not for shopswell I would have never found them. We are not perfect, so lets help each other. And thank you Renita for bringing this topic forward.
Do you get notified if its removed?
Can you give me an example or two incase it was me? It probably wasn't me because I have been trying to be careful not to, I have done a lot of Tag corrections - and Title corrections. The TAGS are out of control.. I am seeing a ton of every tag assigned to a question and there should only be 3 of main ones and up to 10 of sub tags.. It is going to take us a little while to get used to it, but I think it will go smooth. There is always pains when it's something new.
I try to make sure all my questions are about products, shopswell (which can be asked on facebook, but people forget), or product uses. New users are simply putting only two word questions and they can't be helped.
Ouestions should be (as per shopswell): Sometimes you just want to get ideas and feedback from people. Questions let you ask any shopping or product related question. Find the perfect gift, get the just right product, or find the best deal on something you want. When you ask a question, you'll get responses from the community.
If we all try to make our questions clearer, maybe the rest will follow and things will go a bit better. I've only edited one question so far. And I've added a ton of products to questions that we a bit off topic to help out. But something like, "What color?" or "toys?"? How can we help with that except try to clarify it?
I absolutely agree! Sounds like there are some who this power has already gone to their heads.
I'm ok with re-wording questions, however, if something is truly off topic such as "have a great day" then cool. Mark it as off topic. But just to mark things off topic just because you "can" is not the right thing to do either.
I have extremely slow cell service, I live in the middle of nowhere, and majority of the time, I'll post something and my service goes out. I might be able to re-modify my ? But not for minutes to half hour later. By that time, Is already off-topic
I honestly believe that this program is so new and no one has really gone into depth what it's all about except other than some "light" descriptions here & there. That why hit it so hard right off the bat, why not take some time and go with the flow and learn about what this program is before making snap decisions!
I have been helping with title changes when it is a statement, I change it to sound like a question.
In case it was me Id like to know. I havent marked anyones off topic unless they weren't anything to do with shopping and on this website. I saw a few questions asking whats for dinner tonight and I marked that off topic.lol
