Several months ago, I was introduced to Samsung kitchen appliances (I was completely unaware that Samsung has been selling home appliances for years). Since I've been a renter my entire life, I've never had the privilege (or challenge) of having to select my own washer, dryer or refrigerator. I guess I've taken for granted that these essential everyday appliances are already installed in the homes I've rented. Even the worst refrigerator we've inherited (non-working light, and a freezer that has a slow leak) have been better than nothing.
But now, I can't get the Samsung Family Hub Fridge out of my mind. It's got everything a busy family of four needs. Honestly. The four-door flex even makes perfect sense for those who want to claim their own corner. One for each family member. Sort of. (The wine fridge on the bottom would totally be mine.)
You probably never thought of a wi-fi enabled refrigerator before, but I promise you, once you see how this one works, you'll want nothing less. The touchscreen pad on the main door not only allows you to keep track of your grocery list, but you can sync that same list with your smartphone so that you never have to wonder what you added to it when you're standing in the freezer section. I certainly cannot be the only one who forgets the list at home when I finally go to restock our pantry and produce.
It also has a calendar app so you can sync the calendar to everyone's smartphones as well. When you update the calendar, everyone else in your family will be able to see the updates on their devices so they know where everyone needs to be, when. Don't forget the fact that you can easily pull up the recipe you're working on with the touch of a finger so you never have to worry again about spilling on your cookbooks or dropping your iPhone in your pasta sauce.
When you hear about the camera inside the fridge, you're probably thinking this is the perfect way to catch your kids stealing food or drinking out of the carton, but that's not exactly what it's for. What it does do, which you will be totally blown away by, is take a picture of the inside of your fridge so you can see what's there. From the grocery store, you can open up the app and take a photo of your fridge which is sitting at home. You'll never have to text your husband and ask him how many apples are left only to have him text back you when you're already pulling in the driveway.
These, of course, are all hypothetical situations I'm referring to but may sound familiar if you're a busy parent, like myself. I fell in love with this fridge even before seeing the adorable ads featuring Dax Shepard and wife Kristen Bell.
Smart appliances like this are the future and it makes so much sense since it will help you out in a number of ways. Did I mention you can pick from a stainless steel design or all black with two different sizes as far as total capacity?
What else could you possibly want in a fridge? I mean, don't even get me started on the speakers and music apps! I would never leave my kitchen.
