Our cat likes to chew things. We learned this the hard way when we discovered she had chewed through my husband's phone charging cord to the point where he could no longer use it.
Immediately, I went to Facebook to ask my pet owner friends what they would recommend for keeping the rest of our cords intact (this was before I knew about Shopswell). Someone suggested the CritterCord brand and I went directly to Amazon to pick up 3 of them to make sure we kept the cords intact that we use every day around the home.
Recently, we went on a 5-day vacation, leaving the cat at home with the grandparents and our kids. I'm pretty sure the cat was upset with us leaving because we came home to discover the internet cord that leads to my office chewed apart in three separate places.
I'm going to have to stock up on additional CritterCords and just discovered they make two different sizes, this one which fits around the average cord, and a micro version (shown in the video) which is much thinner, to fit around phone charging cords.
The cords definitely have a distinct odor which is what discourages the cat (or puppy if you are a dog person) from chewing on the cords. I have to admit, the smell was rather obnoxious for the first few days of installing them, but it diminishes over time and I would rather put up with that slight smell for a few days than the cost - and inconvenience - of having to replace the cords around our house.
