Isn't it the greatest when you have a craft idea thought in your mind, but nothing seems to be "clicking" on how to make it work? Well yesterday, was that day.
If you have been following my DIY Journey, you know i have been loving creating my own DIY products. I love coming up with recipes and expiriementing with different ingredients to see how or even IF they will turn out!
Yesterday, I finally got that "push" to try making bath bombs!
I was lucky to receive an awesome bomb from a post I found in the freebie group i follow on facebook so it really left me intrigued to start making my own.
I went to the store, got all my ingredients - except for the citric acid - I couldnt find that anywhere - except for Pectin or Sure jel. so i decided to give it a try. Pectin or Sure Jel both have citric acid in it - so I am pretty sure it will work.
HA - it was a complete disaster!
I purchased pretty smelling Love Spell fragerance oil and got them a deep pretty lilac color - then took a nap. when i woke up, they had exploded and my pretty lilac color turned into a beigy-peach color!
I am a little heart broken. lol! so i am back to the drawing board.
so moral of the story - even aspiring chemests don't get recipes right the first time, everyone can't be perfect all the time! and if you are going to do something! Do it right and get the real ingredients!
have you ever improvised in a recipe and it turned out to be a complete disaster?
I would love to hear about your stories below! :)
and in the mean time ... I will keep on perfecting my recipe for the perfect bath bombs and will update as i go along!
