Essential oils are something I'm not going to claim to have a vast knowledge of. Honestly I'm not sure if I agree that they are so wonderful at curing all medical problems or you can replace prescription medication with a few drops of oil.
I have quite a few friends and family who are in-to them so seeing more people started talking about it has got me quite interested in the last few months.
My journey with oils really started in the spring of 2013 My oldest was playing spring softball and I was expecting my youngest at that time. I was looking at a more natural way to repel those nasty mosquitoes as it wasn't safe to have all that bug spray on me.
So I purchased a bottle of lavender oil. I read that lavender is a natural repellent, so I made "homemade mosquito repellant" and purchased dryer sheets with lavender... Even purchased those mosquito repellent bracelets. Now tell my why after all that, those mosquitoes still bit me up all spring.
At that time, I just put that thought to rest, put the bottle away and forgot about it... Until now that is
So 3 years have past and I now see people post all the time. So I decided to give it a try again.
I started out just by buying a few bottles from the health food store. I have quite the eclectic collection as I don't have oils from one specific company or brand.
I am starting to see what a difference they can add to your life. I have made homemade kitchen cleaner, homemade bath salts, homemade lip balms and candles. I look forward to expanding and possibly creating a business out of this at some point in the future
I think what has really sold me is seeing the results I have. Especially with essential oil soaps.
I purchased a couple of homemade essential oil soaps from a craft show about a month ago. My youngest has pretty bad eczema and wasnt finding any relief from manufacturer type eczema products. Even prescription creams would not touch her eczema spots. I was really excited to find these soaps.
instantly her spots started to clear up, even though it claimed to be aimed at eczema, it has cleared up other skin problems like scrapes & cuts really fast!
So I definitely recommend trying out some oils, if you are looking for more natural remedies that conventional treatments have failed at.
I really haven't bought into the oil company hype. I can get a bigger bottle of oils for 1/4th of the price of smaller bottles from the Young Living or Doterra companies. Not that I'm trying to take a way from their sales. But you also don't have to break the bank to get just as quality oils.
I hope this is helpful to you, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to comment below!
