for a couple that has lived together for the past 4 years , and is now getting married in July
This is really nice.
I like to give locally crafted items as wedding gifts. The past few weddings I have been to have all been for friends that have been living together for some time so you know they likely have all the necessities. Then get them a bottle of wine to!! They have all sorts of these caddies the one I bought from a local artisan was made of glass and had a really unique design.
These are two are the best wedding presents, my sister in law just got married and he said he loves these. or you can get them something that they need for their house, a bottle of wine

I would buy them some items to keep the fire burning since they've already lived together for four years

My personal favorite are the Kate Spade "his and hers" wine glasses. I would have been thrilled to receive them on my big day :)
wow that a hard one How about just asking them what they really need without it being Too expensive after all 4yrs!some glassware with their last name in letters (rock glasses)
Personalized items are the best way to go in my opinion. It says you care and it's unique. You've been given lots of suggestions above but I think you just need to think about your bride/groom and the theme of their wedding.
If you think appropriate a family bible with their name embossed
I gave a friends of mine who were living together, return mailing labels. Along with gift card to the store that was listed for their bridal shower to purchase items that they asked for and did not receive.
Surprised, when I received the thank you card, they used the return mailing labels for all their thank you notes.
With a special not "We loved them".
I feel that you can never go wrong with an iron skillet. They are good to cook with, last forever and I know I would love to get one as a gift. This one that I put the link to I absolutely love! Hope this helps!
A spa package they can both enjoy or a gift card to a great restaurant, or a unique shop to pic something they would like but do not have. Hope this helps....
I would get them monogrammed towel set... never can have too many towels.
We got a clock for our 25th and I really liked it, nice memory every time I look at it
Maybe a nice handmade wedding ring quilt or throw would be nice for them to cuddle under.
