Humanity has such a fascinating past, so much history and so much that is lost history to so many of us. Who can say just what history held and what things we don't know now or may never know. So many winding and interesting paths and so many we have yet to learn. That is one reason that I love maps so much. It gives us a glimpse into the ancient past as well as the not so ancient past. It is a way that people have always marked where they were, where they were going and where civilizations moved and broke up. Ancient maps can verify a history of things and people and even Biblical accounts and stories. We can live the rest of our lives without ever exploring our history or know anything about civilizations, but it is so much more interesting to me, to study these maps and see how people moved and went and where we came from and to verify historic accounts of stories we hear and routes in stories that may seem fictional. Many of these seemingly fictional accounts have been and are now being verified by maps being found, research and evidence that keep being uncovered. If you want to learn more, Ancient maps can really teach us a lot.
