I am one of those guys who loves to eat. And, since I was older when I finally got married (39), I figured if I wanted to eat good, I had to learn to cook! One thing I quickly learned was that a good set of kitchen knives is essential!
This set by J.A. Henckels has almost everything - butcher knife, steak knives, etc.
I like this Calphalon set includes kitchen scissors, which is a huge plus. In my household, someone is always taking the scissors out of the kitchen, which drives me crazy!
Here are a couple of nice sets. The nice part about these is that the handle is not made of wood, so they can go in the dishwasher. Wooden handles will eventually rot out if ran through the dishwasher all the time.
This steak knife set with the box is very nice if they are knives you only use on special occasions. Otherwise, I think it's too inconvenient to have to put them back in a box all the time.
Here are just a few more available to choose from.
As you can see, there are many choices for kitchen knives s you can easily find something that fits in with the decor in your kitchen. I do caution you about using knife blocks if you live in an area that is prone to bugs. We ended up with German roaches hiding in ours at one point. Yuck! Apparently they like the wood glue that holds the wood together. You definitely don't want that!
