One of the hardest things to do as a mom, is keep a sick toddler calm long enough to take a temperature. I am so excited that I got to test out the infrared thermometer from BabyMD! This set from BabyMD is a two piece set which includes a froggy thermometer which can be used for under the arm or rectally as well as the infrared thermometer. The infrared thermometer can serve as an ear thermometer as well as a forehead thermometer by simply taking the blue cover off. It can also measure room temperature as well as the temperature of liquids which could come in handy when making bottles. I love how the infrared thermometer allows me to take an accurate temperature without making contact with my daughter. This will come in handy when she is sick and cranky! I can sneak in a reading when she is napping, or simply swipe it across her forehead when she is being fussy. I found that this thermometer was fairly accurate compared to the one I currently used but was much faster. I was able to get an accurate reading in under 3 seconds. I also noticed that the thermometer lit up green when it was a good temperature, orange when it was a semi-high temperature, and red when it was a high temperature. This can come in handy when I am unsure whether or not my daughter needs medicine. Also, the LED screen is fairly large so reading the temperature is fairly easy. Since this thermometer has a lot of different features, I was scared that it would be difficult to set up. The user manual was very well written and I was easily able to understand what each device’s display symbol meant (smiley face=forehead temp mode). Since this thermometer has a base, I can place it ontop of my daughter’s dresser when not in use. It will also automatically shut off when not in use. Overall, I am extremely impressed with this thermometer. I really wish I would’ve found it sooner!
