A little over a year ago I was inspired by a good friend to get my act together and start exercising. I was highly motivated, seeing great results, but then it happened. I overdid it and ended up with a serious case of plantar fasciitis, which is a condition where the feet feel severely bruised and it can become excruciatingly painful just to walk. I had to quit exercising. And, consequently gained all my weight back. I was so upset.
Now I still have pain from plantar fasciitis but at least I can walk without wanting to cry, most of the time. I have to do something to try to get my body in better condition. It's not about appearance at my age (I'm almost 51), but it's about feeling good. And lately I've felt miserable most of the time - no energy, all kinds of pain from lack of motion, etc.
A family member recommended this workout series called Classical Stretch. These are gentle stretches to increase mobility, strengthen bones & muscles, all without putting undue stress on your body. I had done it for it a while back in December and then gradually got off track again. So, I started back on it today. It's not what i consider a fun workout, but it does give you a workout even though you wouldn't think it would by looking at it.
If you are a little bit older, haven't exercised in a while, or have health issues that make a full-on workout difficult or impossible, I recommend trying this. Some of her exercises are on youtube if you want to try it out first, but my streaming is always buffering so it kind of ruins the flow of the workout. There is no special equipment needed. I do use a yoga mat because of my painful foot issue, and she recommends one of those exercise bands but you can use a towel. And you need a chair. But that's it.
This is the one I have, but she has a whole series of them. You can pick the one you think is best for your physical situation.
