I'm always looking for ways to sneak healthy things into my husband's diet. Black beans in burgers are a perfect mix.
Here's what you will need:
Fry your bacon till crispy.
In a large bowl mix together your hamburger and black beans.
In a separate bowl, mixed together the cream cheese (can be a flavored cream cheese like garlic or chive!), tomatoes and Jalapenos.
Divide your meat / bean mix into 16 portions and form your hamburger patties. Each one should be thin, around 1/4 of an inch or so. When you have them all done, spoon your cream cheese mix into the middle of one patty, using another patty on top seal your edges together so you have a stuffed burger. Do this with all of the patties. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Grill for 10 minutes. DO NOT press them down or the cheese will ooze out. Top with bacon and serve on buns with your choice of hamburger toppings.
Note: You can easily replace the cream cheese with your choice of sliced cheeses. Fold over into squares and lay them in the middle with your jalapenos and top with another patty and seal your edges well.
