My son is in the Air Force. He has been stationed in Japan, South Korea, and Germany. Each time he gets leave to come home, we sample his favorite dishes from each country. One of the best recipes he's brought home is Bibimbap (a Korean rice dish). Don't be fooled by the pictures, it's really easy to prepare! You can change the veggies to your liking.
*Put the rice in a rice cooker as you prepare the veggies and meat so that it will all be completed at the same time
In a pan, brown the meat in 1-2 tablespoons sesame seed oil and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce for five minutes. Add half the soy-sauce mixture and continue cooking until the liquid is absorbed, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat and cover. Fry eggs, sunny-side up in sesame oil. Divide the rice between the bowls and top with layered veggies. Add a spoonful of the gochujang red pepper paste, top with cooked egg, drizzle with sesame seed oil, and soy sauce. Enjoy!
