Common Bra Problems Resolved: Part 1 – Bra Cup-Tastrophy
Posted by admin on Mar 27, 2010
One of the biggest bra misconceptions is that small busted women think that because their breasts are little that they must wear a small bra cup size. Not true. There are more women I know who thought that they were a 36A bra only to find out that a 32B or 32C was their correct bra size. Let’s face it. It’s depressing not finding a bra that fits and laboring under the misconception your bra cup, which keeps gaping, is too big for you. So when you find out that you need a larger cup size, it’s enough to make you to want to throw a parade in your own honor.
Myth: Small breasts mean that I wear an AA or an A cup.
Truth: All small breasts are unique. There are small breasts that fit an AA or A cup AND there are small breasts that fit a B or C cup. The cup size is dependent upon two factors:
- Fullness of Breast Tissue
- Width of Individual Breast
Many women with shallow and medium breast tissue think that they have cup sizes smaller than their true size due to the fact that their breast tissue isn’t full. Consequently, many women with shallow breast tissue think that they’re an AA or A cup, only to find out that they’re a B or C cup.
For example, two women wearing the same 32B soft cup bra have different results. One woman has cleavage while the other woman does not. The woman with full breasts has more tissue on the top of the breast, allowing for her breasts to create cleavage. Whereas, the woman with shallow breast tissue, due to a slopping affect of tissue on top of breast or deflation from pregnancy, will fill out the bra cup enough for a good fit but not allowing for cleavage. If she wants cleavage, she’ll need a plunge bra, demi cup bra, push up bra or will need to use bra inserts. Both women wear a 32B, but the fullness of their breast tissue fills out the bra differently.
Width of breast dictates the cup size that is needed. What is the width? It’s just under the fold of the breast and is where the underwire on the bra fits. How do you know if you need to go up a cup size?
- If all of your breast tissue isn’t fitting into the cup, then you need to go up a cup size
- If a bra looks like it fits but your breasts are squished to the center, causing your breasts to look narrow and your upper body to look excessively wide with the bra on, then you need to go up a cup size
- If your bra cup is gaping (otherwise known as “peek-a-boo) then you need to go up a cup size. Click for more information on Bra Advice and to get a free Bra Fitting Consultation Online.
Balconette Bras – For Ease, Luxury and Convenience

The balconette bra is a half cup bra which is designed in such way that its straps are arranged wide apart. The design resembles a square which when combined with the semi cup provides great ease for the fashion tops and outfits. The semi cup may be padded if you want an additional lift, but even the unpadded bra provides wonderful lift because of the specific design of the cups.
The semi cup provides minor or absolutely no support to the cleavage; they serve wonderfully well as the breast enhancement bra since they look great with those cleavage exposing dresses you wear.
These classic bras were initially designed in the year1938 but these were not so famous among women until 1950. They are also known by some other names like Demo bra or the Shelf bra. Such bras provide lesser support to the breast and that is why usually it is not advisable to wear for the larger cleavage. However, due to their particular design, these are ideal for use under low cup tops and outfits where the bra is invisible.
Unluckily sagging breasts are a particular factor associated with the ageing of women and no one can escape from these. They usually occur as the woman goes past the age of fifty or after she delivers a baby. The padded form is ideal to wear to hide your sagging breasts and giving a satisfying appearance to your overall figure. The additional padding generates a fuller and stiffer looking cleavage and so this classic balconette style bra is perfect for you.
Several females feel that their breasts are smaller than normal or average size. The balconette style bra would also assist you in this case particularly with low cut tops. So one should choose the extra padded cups which will provide additional volume with the padding combined with the natural lift in the bra. This would give great enlargement looks to your own cleavage.

Chemises are one of the most luxurious lingerie items that most women can’t do without. If you take a peek into the history of chemises, you’ll be dumbfounded to discover that sexy chemise lingerie originated in the Middle Ages. During that period, they didn’t have the luxury of washing their clothes as often as we do today. So, they wore chemises next to the skin to protect their day clothes from sweat and dirt.
However, sexy chemise lingerie has undergone quite a transformation over the years. As of today, chemises are even considered as ‘sexy sleepwear’ and have more to do with getting “dirty” in the bedroom.
Women still continue to wear sexy chemise lingerie under regular day clothes. In fact, you’ll most certainly need one while sporting a cocktail dress or a knee-length skirt. Chemises have a lot in common with a camisole or a teddy. They are not too short or too long. The metro upscale woman wants the perfect length. What to look for in sexy chemise lingerie?
- While selecting chemises, make sure that the style is flattering and the color bright. You could try some fascinating colors like sapphire or jade.
